Okonomiyaki Video Family Adventure
Okonomiyaki is a Traditional Japanese cook your own meal. Filling, Nutritional & Inexpensive. An Excellent Japan experience for a lively family outing. Not a pancake nor an Omelette. Definitely not a Pizza. It's an Okonomiyaki. Also a popular street food at festivals & such.
Our favorite is "Sakura Tei" Okonomiyaki Restaurant in Harajuku, Tokyo.
Nestled amidst the magnificent "Design Festa Art Gallery" . Which is of itself a must visit in Tokyo.
To get there you must first traverse the unique alleyways of stylish Harajuku & Then follow the trail of Art. A Truly wonderful adventure & for modest levy. Links for both are below.
Popular types of Okonomiyaki are the Hiroshima & Osaka versions. In fact there exists some rivalry between the two cities as to who's the Okonomiyaki Shogun.
Osaka Okonomiyaki is the kinda Pancakey/Omelettey one while Hiroshima is a Layered or Stacked version.
Okonomiyaki is the soul food of Hiroshima & the city claims more Okonomiyaki restaurants than any world city.
Ingredients will vary. However Okonomiyaki began as the Poor Mans food & Almost anything goes.
